Choir Members Hoping for Trip to Hawaii

The Doherty choirs are conducted by Mr. Todd DiCamillo, who has been a choir
teacher for 24 years. He taught at Mitchell High School previously, and after 15 years
teaching there, he then moved to Doherty, and he has been teaching here for four
years. There are six different choirs: Concert, Men’s, Odyssey, Momentum, Eclectic, and
Show Choir. In order to get into these choirs you must audition, but if you want Concert
Choir, just ask your counselor if you can have choir as a class.

Senior Robin Wilson who is in Odyssey Choir said, “I love choir! We have a choir
concert on Tuesday the 10th of December! Mr.D is so amazing, not only is he a great
teacher, but he cares about you as a person. He makes challenging music fun and I’ve
grown so much from being his student.”

Another Odyssey Choir student, sophomore Cole Russell said, “I absolutely love
being able to express myself through my voice along with all my talented peers. Mr.D
and Mrs.Brian are both phenomenal educators and have really helped me evolve my
voice into something I’m proud of. I’m so happy I’ve gotten this experience and can’t
wait for the next two years.” Mrs.Brian is a student teacher.

Mr.D is a great teacher who has helped many students in many different ways.
Senior Kara Hartsuiker agrees. She says, “Being in choir has opened so many doors
for me. It’s really brought me out of my shell and allowed me to participate in so many
things and meet so many amazing people. Mr.D is a wonderful teacher and so helpful.
He’s helped me so much these past four years and I’m excited for my singing in the
future.”

They have plans of going to Hawaii and competing in state.
