Doherty Congratulates FBLA National Competitors

Once again this week I was reminded of the remarkable students we have at Doherty High School. These FBLA students represented SPARTA with class, dignity, pride and confidence. They were a class act all the way around. They competed with 3700 students from around the state and they are the best of the best in their categories.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Jordan Edner, Economics, and Gabbi Liles, Insurance and Risk Management,   who qualified for a trip to National FBLA this summer in San Antonio, Texas. These ladies spent a great deal of time studying on their own to make this opportunity possible.

Isabella Garcia, Personal Finance and Jennifer Bopp (she is a 9th grader folks), word processing may still have a trip to Nationals in their future if someone who placed in the top 4 in front of them is unable to attend.

All of these FBLA students regardless of their finish were amazing to travel with and equally amazing to work with.

I have two women’s tennis players who will exit the bus when we arrive in a bit and play tennis this afternoon! Talk about dedicated Spartans and teammates! I have one running for student council elections who prepped her friends to run her campaign while she was gone this week! Wow. Seth Adams and Isabella Garcia will exit the bus, and get on a plane tomorrow, yep TOMORROW, to DECA Nationals in Florida. Ethan Mcfarlin competed on Monday and got on a plane @ 600 am  Tuesday to fly to Florida to compete in the Conrad Challenge. Many of these students are also prepping to take AP exams in the next few weeks, working jobs, playing off season sports, filling out scholarship applications, and balancing, balancing, balancing with all their might.

As we near the end of the year and you find your patience coming to an end and realize that your sanity might be gone along with your patience I hope that you take a moment to look around in AWE. We are blessed to have some pretty darn amazing kids.

With a greatful and humble heart,
