Forensics Team Looking for New Members
Online summer camp will be a great way to learn the ropes!
June 30, 2020
A note from Mrs. George, Doherty Forensics adviser: I know so many of you have so much to say about improving our world, you have great arguments to make, and you would like to make passionate pleas for change! We would love for you to join us. The Forensics Community (Speech and Debate) is a welcoming place where you can find a competitive but friendly community of students learning how to hone their speaking and performance skills. I’m including an email from our league sponsor about a great summer Speech and Debate Camp. Let me know if you have questions about our team. ([email protected]) The info about signing up is below.
My name is Codey (former captain at Golden HS), and myself and several other graduates/rising seniors in the Colorado Speech and Debate community are hosting an online debate camp in the coming weeks. Given that this upcoming debate season will most likely be different in a variety of manners as a result of COVID-19, we want to give students a chance to practice before it begins. Colorado Speech & Debate Camp will take place from July 5-19, with each event occurring over the course of 5 days within this time period. We will be offering LD and PF (both novice and advanced sections) as well as interp, Congress, world schools debate, and extemp. There is a $5 entrance fee with all proceeds going to the Know Your Rights Camp, an organization that works to empower and educate and mobilize the next generation of social and political leaders.
If you have any questions regarding the camp, feel free to reach out to me or the two camp directors: Andrew Li ([email protected]) and Joli Dou ([email protected])

Thank you very much for your time and have a great rest of your summer!
Respectfully,
Codey Carr
