Previously, our Spartans Automotive program took the W in the 56th Annual Colorado SkillsUSA Automotive Technology Competition…

Coming in 5th place was Senior Nathaniel Heumann, placing 3rd in the Skills USA Regional Skills USA event. Senior Hunter Holshue took 1st place in the Colorado competition and 2nd place in the Regionals competition.

Hunter will be competing in the SkillsUSA’s National Leadership and Skills Conference during June. He will be recognized and will compete as one of the top 50 Automotive Students from across the country.

The top students from different events win Tools, College Scholarships and potential Automotive Internships only available to these students!!!

This is the 4th Consecutive year Doherty has won the State Competition In Automotive Technology and repair. Our staff is “very proud of our students who compete hard, and never let their guard down in competition.”

Our Automotive students were  faced with new challenges to overcome while learning, practicing and competing for this event.

Doherty staff member, Mr. Wheaton was very proud of our Spartans. “Special thanks for everyone who build the competition and made this possible. Special shout out to Julia Halfpop with D11 for going the extra mile getting us signed up on her days off and making a donation to Skills USA.  Someone give this young lady a raise: YOU ROCK” he said. So give these two seniors a big congrats if you get the chance and wish Hunter good luck on his competition this summer!
