Doherty Walk Through

Doherty High School’s auditorium is full of seats to introduce excitement into those who attend any of its performances. In the past, Doherty has held performances like plays, musical concerts, and more, and the new seats coming this year are highly anticipated. “The auditorium is important because it holds inspiring events,” said Jasmine Hughes. Every day Miss Jodi is the first person you see when walking into Doherty High School. Miss Jodi scans every student’s ID and watches the front doors daily protecting our school. “I want to look mean!” said Miss Jodi said while this photo was taken. (Erica Kirchner)
Colorado’s mountains tower over Doherty High School and are clearly visible from the front of the school. Students can see these mountains just by looking out of the school’s windows. “I think the mountains represent the struggles in life and how everyone dies,” responds Layla Mcloyd. (Erica Kirchner)
Doherty High School allows students to discover interest in multiple types of art in its intro to visual arts class. Students in this class [Intro to Art] have so far, made detailed drawings of cities, rooms, comic book characters, and have even started creating clay sculptures. “I enjoy getting to try different types of art so this class is really inspiring and exciting.” -Jayde Martinez (Erica Kirchner)
Doherty has unique architecture all throughout the school including repetition of windows or even ceiling structures. These ceiling structures have been a unique feature to Doherty for many years and are easily recognizable. “The architecture at Doherty is very unique to our school.,” said Alison Perkins (Erica Kirchner)
