About the Candidate:
Q: What is your name and what position are you running for?
A: My name is Joshua Koeoer, and I am running for Secretary of Assemblies.
Q: Can you describe yourself and your personality?
A: Typically, anything along the lines of art, anything performance related – such as choir.
Q: What do you enjoy about Doherty?
A: The community surrounding it. The academics may just be a part of it, but it is really that community that branches out and makes it more than a school.
Experience:
Q: Have you been in student council before, if not what is something like it that you have been involved in?
A: I have not been in student council, but in similar things such as Link leadership and closer things along those lines.
Q: What have you experienced that makes you a good candidate for the position?
A: For [Secretary of] Assemblies it is not really the experience that gets you anywhere, it is more of the ideas that come with it. Because it is not really a position that is managerial, or you are leaning on anyone – it is more of trying to get the student body to enjoy a congregation that you have once every couple of months. So, I think it is less of experience and more of what you can bring to the position
Goals/Vision:
Q: What is Doherty’s biggest problem and how would you fix it?
A: In terms of biggest problem, I just think when it comes to the motivation towards going to specific school events. There is a lot of malice and boredom when it comes to things that the school puts on. Which I can understand because a lot of it goes through upper levels [of admin] are trying to mingle with it. So, truly just let the kids have a place in which they can build the things they want to create and exhibit those then I think like it would truly fix a lot of those problems.
Q: What do you think the position you running for entails?
A: I think in terms of describing it is more of a place to try to allow other kids to have fun in a setting, because Secretary of Assembly is not much. It is more just trying to get people to get involved.
