Spartans it is election season! Here at The Spartan, we believe that everyone deserves a voice, and the value that reporting news has on society today. In acting on this mission, we sat down with every candidate running for the 2023-2024 Cabinet, so that he/she can introduce themselves and share their platform. Voting is during 2nd – 6th period in front of the Spartan Room on April 21, 2023. Enjoy knowing who is on the ballot and happy voting!

About the Candidate:
Q: What is your name and what position are you running for?
A: My name is Wryan Sutton, and I am running for Secretary of Socials.

Q: Can you describe yourself and your personality?
A: I am kind of just all over the place. I feel like sometimes I am very energetic, sometimes I am literally emo. I do tennis, I do choir, I am an environmental club, I have done link crew, and now I want to do Cabinet.

Q: What do you enjoy about Doherty?
A: Honestly, the people, I think the people make it fun and whenever I feel down, I know I can go see some people.

Experience:
Q: Have you been in student council before, if not what is something like it that you have been involved in?
A: I have not been to student council before, but I did student council in middle school, and I have also helped my friend Dempsey a lot with her student council stuff.

Q: What have you experienced that makes you a good candidate for the position?
A: I think that I am I can be very enthusiastic at times. Also, I have good music taste and the position I am running for is for homecoming so there will be good music, and I think I have a very good sense of like decoration in style too.

Goals/Vision:
Q: What is Doherty’s biggest problem and how would you fix it?
A: Honestly, I feel like we need more hype if that makes sense, especially the assemblies. So, I would bring energy and especially with homecoming just make it more fun and exciting for everybody.

Q: What do you think the position you running for entails?
A: I think my position entails helping other people. If not, just helping everybody and making sure that everything that student council does goes well.
