Colorado has a beautiful winter season and lots to do. With winter break is coming up, do you need help making plans with friends? Here are some fun winter activities you can do around Colorado.

First, you can go ice skating. Ice skating is a fun activity to do with friends, by yourself, or family. There are multiple places you can go ice skating some indoors while others are outdoors. Downtown there is an outdoor skating rink in Acacia park, with beautiful lights and surroundings you can have a fun night out with friends. But if you want an indoor ice skating rink there is the Sertich Ice Skating Center. Both rinks can be a fun day with friends during your break. 

Another thing you can do is have a Christmas movie night. At night grab a couple of friends or family members, make your favorite movie snacks, and get ready to relax and have fun. There are so many Christmas movies to choose from to get you into the Christmas spirit, you can also watch a series of movies like the Santa Claus movies. 

You can also have a baking day with your friends. Make your favorite winter snacks and drinks. Have a cozy day with your friends and bake your favorite foods, a couple of winter snacks can be a variety of cookies or your favorite pastries. Along with your freshly baked snacks, you can make a cup of hot cocoa or apple cider.

You can also have gift exchanges with friends. A couple of fun gift games are White Elephant, Secret Santa, or Pass the Parcel. White Elephant is played with a group of friends, each friend will bring a gift within a certain budget, and you can decide the budget amongst the group. The first player will open a gift at random, from their on the players can either choose a new gift to open or steal a gift from another player. When a player’s gift is stolen they can choose another gift to open or steal a different gift. For Secret Santa, you will get a group of friends and each group assigned a person to buy a gift for at random, the person will not know whos buying for them. You will buy a gift for the person within the set budget, and on a certain day, you will all open your gifts. You can guess who bought the gift. Pass the Parcel is when you have one gift wrapped in multiple layers of gift wraps. You will pass the gift around with each player unwrapping a layer at a time. The player who gets the layer that reveals the gift gets to keeps it.

Another winter activity you can do is looking at the winter lights. You can drive or walk to go see the lights around colorado springs. Some neighborhoods have great lights or you can go downtown. This is a fun activity to do with friends but it can also be a fun date idea. You can either drive or walk around town.

If you are willing to take a trip skiing and snowboarding might be the thing for you. A nice vacation into the mountains can take you to a couple of snowboarding and skiing resorts. Grab a group of friends of your family and take a trip to the mountains for a fun weekend. There are many places you can go for the activities, a couple main places are Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen and Steamboat. You can choose to stay at a hotel and stay the weekend or you can take a one day trip with driving up in the morning, skiing or snowboarding and then driving back home at the end of the day. If you are not really into the winter sports you can also go tubing in these. Tubing is where you go don a hill in a tube, you can go with friends or by yourself depending on the size of the  tube.
