Doherty’s Cross country season started a few weeks ago on Aug 17, 2024 and they have been working hard to train their endurance and speed to represent our school. The training has been rough and difficult and they are on pace, maybe even better than expected.
Watching the Cross Country meets may be difficult to understand, but it’s all about running and trying to beat their record. The cross country coach Robert Duensing said, “[They are doing] better than expected with 24 out of 28 having PRs/ Personal records.” The cross country team has been locked in and working their hearts out to be better than other schools by bettering themselves.
Some of the teammates believe that they are also doing pretty well. Cross country teammate Giana LeBold said, “I think we’re doing pretty decent, maybe even better than expected.” Even the teammates are recognizing their hard work which is a valuable virtue to own. People are glad our Cross Country team is working hard and representing our school proudly.
One of the squadmates, Quinton Rodriguez is one of our strongest teammates, being one of the fastest students of all time at Doherty. People like watching him run because he is a strong competitor and he puts our school in a good light. The coach even believes he’s a strong competitor and he said, “Quinton Rodriguez is exceeding expectation and is the 4th fastest cross country runner at Doherty.”
Our cross country Teams have been dominating the field and exceeding expectations and showing people how good our school is. Watching people support our teams and showing our confidence in our school is a fantastic thing to watch. Our cross county team has been firing up the field and destroying other schools with their PRs. Students and staff are proud of our team’s hard work and outstanding confidence.
