May 18th, 2026, Doherty High School will be having the senior awards and scholarships. Are you ready to take that massive leap into the real world? For so many of us, this day will be all about scholarships and awards we’d all poured our hearts into. Remember all those late nights? The endless revisions on essays, the awkward asks for recommendation letters? Yeah, all that grit and hustle is leading up to this very moment, hoping each application was a little golden ticket to whatever was next.
Everyone will be getting their moment that they waited so long for. All your hard work is going to pay off come May 18th, you will get recognized, and everyone will be able to see the milestone you are about to create. Being able to see people walk across that stage in the auditorium, getting recognized for their unique thing, will be inspiring and amazing. It’s like a big, collective high-five, saying, “Yeah, you did that. We saw you,” and after that very moment it is important for you to take all those applauds and cheers and run with it, continue to make those around you happy but most importantly continue to make your family happy. Show them that this isn’t the end; this is just the beginning and start of your adult life.
For the students who are receiving those awards and recognition for scholarships, they will for sure feel and see the weight lift right off their shoulders. The whole worries and thoughts of paying for college thing won’t have to be a question anymore once you step onto the stage in the auditorium and receive that award you have been praying for. For some it won’t just be about the cash, though, it will be a huge sense of validation, that feeling of, “Okay, I’ve got this. I can actually do this.” It was Doherty saying, “We believe in you, and we’re willing to back that up,” because Doherty believes everyone has a purpose in anything they do it will always be a me before we thing here and they want you to carry that with you throughout your life no matter what it is always choose you first and have high thoughts that you can do anything you put your mind to.
Senior Awards day will feel like more than just a ceremony, it will show the incredible snapshot of all our different paths, a way to wrap up this whole high school chapter while simultaneously shoving us gently, but firmly, towards the next biggest step of our lives. Those scholarships and awards are not just going to be a piece of paper, they will fuel, a massive boost of confidence, and practical help for whatever wild adventures await on us. You will be able to see it on everyone’s faces with the mix of pride, relief, and pure, unadulterated excitement for what’s to come whether it brings extreme challenges along the way at least one of your major worries will no longer be a worry anymore.
