Prom and What’s Going On!

Bella McClanahan, Lead Editor for Tips and Advice

Prom, something we all look forward to once we start high school or before that if you have an older sibling. The dresses, the music, dancing, and the unforgettable night. From prom-posals to memories with close friends, some feel it is completely overhyped, but others would disagree. Throughout the COVID chaos, Doherty students and students everywhere have had no idea what would happen next. Whether it was the final decision on in-person learning or graduation and our prom. I hope this information answers any questions you’ve been having or reminds you of details you forgot!

I am here to tell you all the information as of right now! Prom is planned to for May 1st at 8:00 – 11:00 pm, at Flying W Ranch, 3330 Chuckwagon Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80919. Tickets are $40.00 per person, and it is a first come, first served situation, so pay attention for announcements! When it comes to who can attend, it is only Doherty seniors or Doherty juniors if invited and you must arrive together! Sadly, no outside guests are allowed to attend the prom. To prevent COVID from spreading, we need to work together and follow the requirements put in place: masks must always be worn (outside and indoors), social distancing must be followed, and temperatures will be taken at the dance. Lastly, scanning a QR code on the back of the tickets will also be required.

I hope most seniors are excited for this bit of normalcy we have as our high school years are ending. So, let us hope for a warm night full of laughs and songs and forever memories. Please make the best of it. It’s bound to be a Spartan Spirit filled night.
