Reflections Contest Asking for Submissions

Reflections+Contest+Asking+for+Submissions

Doherty’s PTSA is sponsoring the schoolwide Reflections Contest again this year, and all Doherty students can enter.  There are six different categories, and all of the entries will be turned in digitally.  The deadline for all submissions for our local contest is November 30. Prizes will be awarded for the top entries, and top winners go on to compete at the local and state level. Students can compete in more than one category if they wish, and there is even a category for students with special needs.

The theme for the year is “I Will Change the World By….”  All of the entries should reflect back on the theme. Remember to spend a lot of time on your Artist Statement because this is part of the evaluation process. Use your 50-word Artist Statement to explain how your work fits the theme and how you created the piece. Students submit their completed works of art in the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and  Arts.

What is this program? Each year, over 300,000 students nationally in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.

Use the submission link below to enter. Doherty students can enter up to two categories.
