Harkely and McFarlin Headed to Florida Innovation Challenge

Harkely+and+McFarlin+Headed+to+Florida+Innovation+Challenge

Please join me in congratulating Taylor Harkley and Ethan McFarlin, as they have been selected from a VERY competitive, national field of science-minded students in the 2018-2019 Pete Conrad Innovation Challenge. This program invites students to submit business and science innovation plans to compete against teams from all over the country; Ethan and Taylor’s “Pine Sight AI” plan was selected as a finalist in the “Energy and Environment” category, and are now eligible to travel to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, to present their project at the Conrad Innovation Summit, in the hope to be honored as a “Pete Conrad Scholar”, named after Apollo astronaut Pete Conrad, which includes significant scholarship opportunities.

These two amazing Spartans have continually impressed me this year, with their enthusiasm and dedication to their project. I’m excited that they will have an opportunity to continue this exciting process!
