Doherty High School has received a huge, meaningful donation of 2 million dollars from former student Andy Wilfong and his wife Lisa for an indoor training facility, also known as a field house. Mr. Wilfong, now CEO of Infinity Systems Engineering, remembers having amazing memories at Doherty High School, and is a significant benefactor to the school. Wanting to inspire and support students, now and in the future, he believes that “[s]uccess should be shared”. The new field house will be an amazing touch to Doherty, it will allow students, athletes, and programs, a comfortable space to practice and school work during the winter or in unexpected weather conditions.
The field house should be done sometime around December of this year 2025, and will take up 1,800-square-feet. It will provide plenty of room for academic activities, and it will be used for during and after school activities. The field house will consist of a turf field, batting cages, a golf simulator inside and will include a variety of equipment for many kinds of sports. This allows athletes, programs, clubs, and even our 5A marching band to keep doing what they love without having to worry about the different seasons and weather. It will allow our students to be at their fullest potential and give us more opportunities than before.
Us, Doherty High School students really appreciate Mr. Wilfong and his wife Lisa for this incredible and generous donation. This field house will have an extreme impact on Doherty and its students. We truly appreciate the Wilfong family for helping our students reach their fullest potential and grant us more opportunities to truly grow and learn.
